poems by Ogden Gnash

reflections on parsly

parsly is garsly

the duck

behold the duck,
it does not cluck,
a cluck it lacks,
it quaks,
it's especialy fond,
of a puddle or pond,
and when it dines or sups,
its bottoms ups.

the kitten

the problem with a kitten is that,
it eventualy becomes a cat.

salamuffin (salamander & muffin)

the salamuffin loves to have fun,
it enjoys a fly salad,
or a bath in the sun.
some consider you a lovely snack,
but then,one salamuffin we'd lack!
others think your appetizing,
when in the oven you are rising,
but me?
i think your realy cute!
not something to eat,
or something to shoot!
but others do not think the same,
and others do not feel the shame.
they'd hunt you without seconde thought,
you'd hope it's because the weather's hot!
but you can't take chances,
so you run,
wishing for just a bit of sun!
unfortunately,
the perfect tan...
is once again desturbed by man!

children are smarter than you think!

what comes to mind when you here the word"children"?
most people think that all that is going on in a kids mind is toys and school and other things like that, its not true.how do i know this? because i'm a kid! so here it is what realy is going on in a kids mind from the point of view from a kid!:first of all we understand much more than you think about politics, and we have opinions to.suprisingly enough we actualy care what is happening around us and who is making all the rules! most of us know who is running for mayor for example and we know who we would vote for if we could!in fact me and my friends get together every week to talk about and studie business crime!(tax evasion, money laundering, white collar crime etc..)without adults!secondly most of us children spend our time on the internet researching enviromental problems and recent court cases instead of playing games(we also enjoy writing in blogs!)so when someone says the word"childeren''think about what I said instead of what you heard!

ning nang nong

this is one of my favourite poems that inspires me:

in the ning nang nong,
where the cows go "bong!",
and the monkeys all say "boo!"
theres a nong nang ning,
where the trees go"ping!"
and the tea-pots"jiber jaber joo!"
and the nong ning nang,
where the mice go"clang!"
and you just can't cach them when they do!
so its:ning nang nong,
cowsgo"bong!"
nong nang ning,
trees go"ping!"
nong ning nang,
mice go "clang!",
what a noisy place to belong,
in the ning nang ning nang nong!

just go's to show you that even complete utter nonsence can make a good poem!
